This is an easy-to-read book that can likely be read in one sitting. I believe this only took a few hours for me to read, and that's because I linger on Shan Sa's poetic writing style. I hadn't known that the two characters alternated their chapters in narration (the edition I read didn't say so in the summary at all), so I was confused when I read that the 'girl' was having an erection and ejaculated in some chapters. Yes, there is sex in this book, but just short of erotica, Shan Sa writes her love scenes honestly. I held back one star on this book only because I felt confused by the multiple narration and wasn't clear who was who from chapter to chapter unless I read about breasts and erections, and "the girl who played go". Otherwise, as usual, a very beautifully descripted book that reads like poetry from Shan Sa.
