What an outstanding novel. Ironically, I'm not a Tudor fan, but this story was completely too good not to see where it would lead. Full of unlikely heroes and unlikely villains, I was captivated from the first page to the last. Like a Tudor mystery, I was engaged and found myself not so easily able to predict the outcome, which kept myself wanting more and eagerly awaiting the mystery to be solved. My only complaint is that for a series.. this is only book one, and was written years ago! I strongly encourage the author to give us book two of the spymasters that will follow Mary's downfall, and the rise of Elizabeth!
