I just loved this book. Every detail is so beautifully written, even if it as small as describing someone smoking a cigarette or the way the wind blows someone's hair off their face. Anita Shreve can take a complex relationship between a newly married couple, pepper in a cast of neighbors and coworkers and makes storytelling fun with her concentration to detail. I couldn't help but feel the romanticism of this time and place on the beach of Fortune's Rocks even if the moments were heartbreaking. Very well done.
